Laces Drag – Right Foot
Drag the ball forward using the laces — the top of your foot. This builds a different kind of touch than the sole roll or inside touch. Most players default to pushing the ball with their toe. The laces drag breaks that habit.
This is a Ball Basics training skill. Get comfortable here before taking it into a game.
Watch & Practice
Section titled “Watch & Practice”How to Do It
Section titled “How to Do It”- Place your right foot on top of the ball
- Use the laces (the top of your foot) to drag the ball forward slowly
- Keep the ball close — small steps, not one long push
- Stay balanced and low
- Bring the ball back and repeat
Focus on: contact with the laces, not the toe. If the ball is rolling too far, you’re pushing — slow down.
