Inside Bent and Placed

This is the shot you use when you need to place the ball — not blast it. The inside of the foot gives you bend and control. Pick your corner and put it there.

This is Shooting Drill 2.

  1. Approach the ball at a slight angle
  2. Plant your standing foot next to the ball
  3. Strike with the inside of your foot — across the ball, not through the centre
  4. Follow through toward your target corner
  5. The ball should curve slightly toward the far post

Focus on: wrapping your foot around the ball. The bend comes from the side contact.

“Pick your corner. Wrap your foot around it.”

Game Smarts Challenge

Hit the same corner 6 out of 10 times = ready for outside bent and placed.
